It’s the holiday season!  Christmas carols fill the airwaves, holiday specials grace the TV, and stores proudly deck their halls.  It’s the time of year where baking and creating seem to fill the minds of everyone.  You’ve always wanted to be creative, but may have felt stifled by lack of inspiration, time or maybe just a good set of directions.

Here’s something to get you started.  Step by step instructions on how to make Cinnamon Stick Santas!
Supplies to make Cinnamon Stick Ornaments

Cinnamon Sticks, Paint, Ribbon, Textured Paint (optional)

I usually use a 6 inch cinnamon stick. Paint the top of the cinnamon stick red, the middle flesh colored and the bottom with the white textured paint. The red should go entirely around the stick.
Painting Cinnamon Sticks
Allow the paint to dry completely between steps. This may take 30 to 90 minutes. The paint must be completely dry before you can add details.
Paint the face.  Paint eyes, a red dot for a nose and a smile.
Paint the beard (with the textured paint), and don’t forget the mustache!
Gold Ribbon

Let the ornament dry for 24 hours to ensure that everything is completely set and will not smear.
Glue a loop of ribbon to the back of the ornament.
